Steve, what a wonderful story, about your family Christmas, with 10 kids in our family, mom and dad always seemed to get us everything we wanted, you article brought back a flood of memories, thank you, great story

Santa would wrap and give me what my brother was to get,he would get what santa wanted me to have.my mother said it was because I always wanted to trade with him. This way I really did get my gift. Lol

My favorite gift ever; a 2 story vinyl playhouse with furniture, a family of 4 that came from Sears. I donated recently to Goodwill. Yes, I took a photo before I donated. It was in beautiful shape! I played with it 'til I was at least 12 years old!

Oh how I miss the D & C Store. 😊 Loved the bulk candy of course & will always remember the squeaky wooden floor. Thanks for the memories Steve!! 😊

Thanks for reminding me of the dime stores in my life: Fenkell and Wyoming in Detroit and the one in Howell in the late 80s until it closed some years later.

Nice family memory too.
